An expert panel of 115 participants has assessed the future of data-driven transportation systems in Sweden. Connected infrastructure and vehicle databases, as well as traffic management systems and digital twins, are critical assets. Here you can download the final report and the evaluation.

Transport Analysis, in collaboration with the Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute (VTI), has carried out a Delphi study on smart and intelligent transportation systems. The study involved an expert panel where participants, over several rounds, assessed the importance of data-driven systems, stakeholders, benefits, and uncertainties.

Data-driven transportation systems are considered to contribute to improved traffic safety, more efficient traffic management, and reduced climate and environmental impact. These benefits depend on the successful implementation of national digital transport infrastructure. The main challenge is public sector governance and political leadership.

Here you can download the final report of the Delphi study and an English memorandum of its evaluation. The report is in Swedish but includes an English summary.
